Simon Wiesenthal - RIP at the ripe old age of 96. I think he probably outlived most of the Nazi murderers he hunted down.
The Washington Post has a good (long) article in memoriam here. A shorter, lighter-reading one here.

The horrors of genocide should not have happened, yet such barbarism continues today under the radar of most of the world. All it takes it for good people to succumb to their prejudices and fears, and stay silent.

Re: Simon Wiesenthal - Humanity's Conscience?
As well he should...he was an inspiration to all of us. And, may his soul rest in peace and know that he helped shape the conciseness of a people. I'm sure that if he was not as forthright in the battle to bring to justice a few perpetrators of an atrocity that is still unimaginable in its scale, others would have continued to occur.
